BACCHIC LEXEMES (I). FROM THE ANSWERS TO THE 8TH SURVEY UNDERTAKEN BY THE MUSEUM OF THE ROMANIAN LANGUAGE
(Abstract)
The present paper deals with the phraseological and lexical units extracted from the answers to the 8th Survey undertaken by the Museum of The Romanian Language (Food and Beverages) in 1937. More specifically, questions number 105, 106, 107 and 108, which relate to the process of drinking, were taken into consideration. They refer to the pleasure of drinking alcohol, to drinking without getting drunk, to easily getting drunk and to being partially intoxicated. We undertook an ethnolinguistic and cognitive analysis, trying to pinpoint the imaginary dimensions underlying beneath the linguistic structures identified.
